Wisconsin Breezes Past Cornhuskers Behind Jonathan Taylor’s Career Night
Nebraska entered this game with what seemed like an insurmountable amount of problems. The Cornhuskers’ starting quarterback, Adrian Martinez was hobbling around due to a tweaked ankle, and Scott Frost was already receiving severe scrutiny after his team started 0-4 for the first time since 1945.
With the Huskers entering Camp Randall to take on the 16th ranked Badgers, things were certainly not going to get any easier.
To Nebraska’s credit, the Scott Frost led team put up a good fight. In fact, in the second half, Nebraska and Wisconsin both put up 21 points. But the Badgers 17 point lead at halftime eventually was what secured the victory.
Jonathan Taylor ran all over the Cornhusker defense. The true Sophomore rushed for 221 yards including a career high 88 yard touchdown run.
Taylor will need to continue putting up Heisman like numbers if Wisconsin wants to continue its reign over the Big Ten West.
Although he had been bothered by a bum ankle for most of the previous games, Nebraska quarterback, Adrian Martinez played well. The true Freshman passed for 384 yards and two touchdowns in the losing effort.
Even though Nebraska lost, the Cornhuskers showed promise. With a healthy Adrian Martinez, Nebraska has proved that they are capable of challenging some of the top teams in the nation.
Next up for Nebraska is Northwestern.
Next Saturday will be a much more difficult game for Wisconsin. The Badgers will travel to Michigan to take on Shea Patterson and the Wolverines.
