Pick Six: 6 Storylines to follow into Week 6
I think we are all so confident about how the rest of the season will go down now after viewing Week 5. Now lets get into the good stuff this week:
The Bloody Red River Rivalry
Oklahoma and Texas. Big 12 football doesn’t get better any time of the year, with this game taking the cake. Oklahoma coming in the game with a 5-0 record and Texas following on their tail with a 4-game hot streak. Is Texas back? And Kyler Murray fly Oklahoma into the Playoff? I am not sure what the answer will be, but we are all in for a treat Saturday at noon.
Hard Knocks
Trevor Lawrence took a heck of a hit last week against Syracuse. This hit took him out of the game and left Clemson fans rambling in fear. Lawrence was diagnosed with a concussion that day. Fortunately, Clemson made the comeback happen and remained undefeated at this point in the season. And if that wasn’t good enough, Trevor Lawrence has been cleared and is expected to play Saturday at Wake Forest. Will Lawrence return to his previous liking and dish out a beating on the Demon Deacons?
Welcome to the Terror Dome
This is no other than the nickname given to Lane Stadium by former player Corey Moore during a stomping of Clemson. This time, #6 Notre Dame is planned to step foot into Lane Stadium and take on the #24 Hokies Saturday night. This is looking to be a close battle to the last possession. Whoever wins will be really looked into at being a CFP contender. In all actuality, this is a top-10 matchup with the only reason it’s not being Virginia Tech’s upset loss to ODU. Can Notre Dame escape Lane Stadium with a win?
Can Snell?
Benny Snell Jr. is only now being recommended for Heisman voting. Only now. This kid has shown to be a monster at running back ever since last year. Snell and Kentucky now travel to Kyle Field, home of the 12th man, to take on the Texas A&M Aggies. The Aggies are looking to prove they are a force to be reckoned with in the SEC and Kentucky looks to roll through the rest of their schedule to Georgia. Lets see who is the real force.
Sling In The Swamp
I think this will get ugly. I am not talking about a blowout, but a rough physical game. The #22 Gators are pumped that they get to return home to host #5 LSU. All season LSU has been seen as this punishing team that will lay it out on teams. If history tells us anything, this will not be the case. This will be a hard fought game for both teams. This can be a decider on Playoff or Conference implications. Who walks out of Ben Hill Griffin with the victory?
Turnover Chain v. Turnover Backpack
Most are expecting a blowout, but I don’t buy into that stuff during rivalry week. These two are known to get very hostile with each other when they meet. #17 Miami is trying to prove they are not a step off after dropping to LSU early on. On the other hand, FSU has their eyes on trending upward after a slow start. This game can mean a lot when it comes to conference play and with lots on the line it will be good. Look out for an appearance from either the Turnover Chain or Turnover Backpack this Saturday when these two stoic rivals clash.
