Boston College at #23 NC State
Boston College at #23 NC State Series
- Game will be at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina
- Game will start at 12:30 PM ET
- Boston College leads series 9-6
- NC State holds current win streak of 1
Offensive Players to watch:
NC State: Ryan Finley is the player on the offensive side of the ball that NC State has relied on for most of their season. NC State averages 342 yards in passing a game, which trumps their running yards per game at 125. If Finley can sit back in the pocket and pick apart the Boston College defense with his arm, then NC State will have little trouble with this game
Boston College: I’m sure most would say that AJ Dillon is who NC State is most worried about, they aren’t wrong. However, there are two equal parts in Boston College’s offense being the passing game and rushing game. NC State will be plenty of ready for the rushing game from AJ Dillon, so it is up to Anthony Brown to make sure his passing game is ready to go. This is my deciding factor for who will win the game.
Defensive Players to watch:
NC State: Germaine Pratt has been one of the most talked about names in Raleigh when pertained to Wolfpack Football. He is a vicious threat in the middle field of the defense who can read offense quite beautifully. He excels in games that are “high pressure”. NC State will need Pratt to shut down AJ DIllon when it comes to yards-after-contact right off the line.
Boston College: Taj-Amir Torres NEEDS to be lockdown. Boston College’s defense has struggled to keep offenses at bay, but one man has persevered through this struggle and it is Torres. Torres can take a WR and take him out of the game. Torres better stop these NC State pass attacks on the outside if the Eagles hope to stay in it.
The Basics:
I see no way that Boston College wins this. I know it sounds very pessimistic for you Boston College fans, but the Eagle’s offense is very one-dimensional. NC State will be ready for AJ Dillon’s rushing attack and will most likely stack the box to do so. Also, NC State’s secondary is filled with veterans who know what they’re doing. All the numbers and stats point to a NC State win this weekend.
Prediction:
34-20 NC State
