Notre Dame’s Push to Playoff Contention
Assuming certain, expected conditions and elementary norms are met, Notre Dame stamps the regular season 12-0.
They sauntered through five weeks unscathed, and look ahead to a string of teaser games, each one with a favorable margin of victory. While their suspension of hostilities with the committee over the merit of a conference championship continues, there is no taboo to a no loss program with multiple marquee wins. Meaning a 12-0 record is likely an automatic bid.
And that’s analyzing just their off-field narrative.
On the field, they’ve found their missing link in Ian Book. He’s thrown for seven touchdowns and rushed for three more, all while maintaining a 70% completion rate.
It’s tangible now, and it’s time for Notre Dame to be taken as a serious postseason threat.
