Predicting the Winner of every Top 25 Game Week 4
We will be doing game-by-game predictions for every Top 25 team every week and keeping a record of our accuracy.
Record 49-11 (82%)
Competitive Games:
17 TCU at Texas:
Texas looked great last week in a “Upset of USC” and for this game will be a huge talking point in the never-ending Texas is back debate. TCU played Ohio State tough in a game that would have been incredible on their resume but ended in a loss. I’ll take TCU on the road in a close one.
TCU 32-27
18 Wisconsin at Iowa:
Wisconsin suffered an embarrassing loss to BYU last week and are a win away from being completely removed from Playoff Picture. The Hawkeyes held Iowa State standout running back David Montgomery to 44 yards which is a warmup for Heisman caliber RB Jonathon Taylor and Wisconsin’s NFL caliber offensive line. Both teams have had QB struggles and strong defenses which points to a low scoring grind-it-out game.
Wisconsin: 24-21
Close Calls:
14 Mississippi State at Kentucky:
Kentucky is desperately looking to legitimize themselves in the SEC and beating 14 Mississippi State at home is the perfect opportunity. Nick Fitzgerald is going to be a problem, but Kentucky’s Benny Snell is among the best in the nation. I’ll take Kentucky in an upset at home.
Kentucky 13-10
24 Michigan State at Indiana:
Michigan State has had 2 rough games in a 7-point win over Utah State and a Loss to Arizona State. Indiana is 3-0 and playing at home. It would almost be an upset for Michigan State to win at this point. I love upsets.
Michigan State 35-32
7 Stanford at 20 Oregon:
Bryce Love comes back but we have no idea how healthy he is and If he will get enough touches to make a significant impact. Stanford’s defense is significantly better than Oregon’s, and despite Oregon’s QB and potential 1stround pick Justin Herbert’s dominance this season, Stanford just has more impact players. Stanford by one score in a tough road game.
Stanford 48-41
The Locks: Don’t really need to go into too much detail on any of these games as most of them seem to be locks and blowouts.
