Jarrett Culver NBA Scouting Report and Pro Comparison
Measurables:
- Age: 20
- Height: 6’7.5″
- Wingspan: 6’9.5″
- Weight: 195
Strengths:
Great scorer off the dribble.
NBA athlete. Smooth and explosive.
Good rebounder for a wing.
Lockdown defender. Generates steals and blocks (1.5, 0.6).
Very good playmaker for his size. Can be secondary ball-handler in NBA.
Took team to NCAA championship game.
Weaknesses:
Inconsistent from beyond the arc.
Not a great FT shooter (70.7 FT%).
Can make careless passes at times.
Pro Comparison:
Andre Iguodala
Athletic wings who can get to the rim effortlessly and create offense for their teammates. Defensively they are stoppers who guard the opposing team’s best wing night in and night out. Their jump-shots are solid at times, but aren’t very consistent from beyond the arc.
NBA Draft Outlook:
4-7 Range.
Ideal Fits:
Cleveland at 5:
Culver and Sexton would form a really athletic backcourt that could switch defensive assignments with ease. Culver moves well off-ball, but he’s a much better player with the ball in his hands and Cleveland would allow him to get some experience leading an NBA offense day 1.
Suns at 6:
Suns have a major problem on the defensive end and Culver could hopefully help that out a bit. His athleticism and motor would be a massive pickup for a team that is built around slow-footed Devin Booker and cement-footed DeAndre Ayton. Booker has shown some very good playmaking skills this past year and it wouldn’t be crazy to say that he and Culver could form a big backcourt moving forward.
