Romeo Langford NBA Draft Scouting Report and Pro Comparison
Measurables:
- Age: 19
- Height: 6’6″
- Wingspan: 6’11”
- Weight: 215 LBs
Strengths:
Perfect size for a 2/3.
Probably 2nd best natural scorer in the class after Barrett.
Gets to the line frequently. 6.1 FTA/Game.
Projects as above average defender/rebounder.
Can create offense off the dribble.
Weaknesses:
Jumpshot is a work in progress. 27.2 3PT% on 3.9 3PTA/Game. No thats not a typo.
Good athlete, but not very explosive.
Can be ball dominant at times. Takes dumb shots.
Defense is good, but inconsistent.
NBA Comparison:
Bradley Beal as an average shooter
Effortless scorers who thrive with the ball in their hands and can make an impact at all 3 levels. Neither have rim-rocking athleticism, but they both are extremely smooth scorers who can get off shots with ease. Defensively they aren’t stoppers, but can use their long arms and quickness to make an impact.
NBA Draft Outlook:
12-18 Range.
Ideal Fits:
Miami at 13:
Miami has some very good young players, but no true scorers. Langford could step in and have an opportunity to develop as a scorer/playmaker surrounded by some very good 3 and D players. Miami currently has Justice Winslow staring at PG so they would benefit tremendously from Langford’s natural ball skills and slashing abilities.
Detroit at 15:
Detroit will be looking to improve the backcourt and Langford at 15 would be great value. The Pistons run their offense out of the post through Griffin and Drummond which would allow Langford to get easy baskets off cuts and wide open shots.
