Nicolas Claxton NBA Scouting Report and Pro Comparison
Measurables:
- Age: 20
- Height: 6’11.75″
- Wingspan: 7’2.5″
- Weight: 217 LBs
Strengths:
Great size at nearly 7-Foot with a 7’2″ wingspan.
Gets to the FT line very well.
Decent rebounder.
Very good shot blocker.
Shows potential as a shooter.
Good passer for a Big.
Weaknesses:
Needs to put on weight.
FT shooting needs improvement (64.1%).
Jumpshot is improving, but far from NBA ready.
May never be a difference maker offensively. Passive at times.
Pro Comparison:
Poor Man’s Paskal Siakam
Athletic big men who make an impact on defense and are better playmakers than advertised. Decent enough shooters that they can stretch the floor a bit and occasionally hit the three. Make impact on the boards and as shot blockers early on.
NBA Draft Outlook:
25-35 Range.
Ideal Fits:
Cleveland at 26:
The Cavs have very little young talent in the front court and could use a Big Man as versatile as Claxton. He would be given a bigger role in the offense than most teams would, and a chance to develop his promising skills as a playmaker.
Warriors at 28:
Warriors still have a massive hole at center (assuming Boogie leaves) and Claxton would be a perfect fit. Really solid defender who has some handles and can get the ball to the stars. Could be a better version of Kevin Looney.
