Mfiondu Kabengele NBA Scouting Report and Pro Comparison
Measurables:
- Age: 21
- Height: 6’10.5″
- Wingspan: 7’3″
- Weight: 256 LBs
Strengths:
Versatile defender. Can block shots and guard the perimeter for his size.
Strong finisher from the low post.
Shows a lot of potential as a shooter.
Above average athlete with long arms.
Weaknesses:
No real niche. Decent at everything.
Foul Prone.
Offers little as a playmaker.
NBA Comparison:
Poor Man’s Serge Ibaka
Projects as a versatile shot-blocker who can hold his own guarding the perimeter. Offensively they have inconsistent, but effective jump shots and use their athleticism/size to get easy buckets at the rim. Can capably play both big men slots
NBA Draft Outlook:
25-35.
Ideal Fits:
Golden State at 28:
GSW will continue to have a hole at center unless Boogie resigns, so taking a flier on the versatile Kabengele would make sense. A good defender and promising shooter, he wouldn’t need the ball to make an impact.
Philadelphia at 33 or 34:
Tobias Harris may be out the door which would leave a massive hole at the 4. Kabengele would be able to play minutes at the 4/5 in a Rim-Running floor stretcher role. His versatility defensively would be a huge pickup in a conference that features some of the best Forwards in the league.
