Measurables:
- Age: 19
- Height: 6’11.5″
- Wingspan: 7’3.5″
- Weight: 220 LBs
Strengths:
Freak athlete for his size.
Strong finisher inside. Shot 72.8 FG%.
Very good rim protector. Great timing/length.
Big Alley-Oop Target. Has great hands and can out jump defenders.
Surprisingly decent FT shooter (74 FT%).
Weaknesses:
Very Foul Prone. 3.3 in only 23.3 MPG.
Not a great rebounder yet. Needs to add strength.
No face-up/post game. May be strictly rim-runner.
Has shown very little playmaking skills.
NBA Comparison:
Smarter JaVale McGee
Amazing athletes with tremendous verticals and length, they use their size and speed to cover a large area and meet defenders at the rim. Offensively they operate as an Alley-Oop target, but offer very little else in the half-court. Foul prone but elite shot-blockers can change the game in the paint.
NBA Draft Outlook:
8-14 Range.
Ideal Fits:
Atlanta at 8 or 10:
Atlanta has John Collins in the Front Court but no True Center. Hayes could thrive as a rim-runner on a team thats full of shooters and one of the best passers in the league in Trae Young. Hayes could get decent minutes right away due to his shot-blocking and a lack of depth.
Boston at 14:
A rim-runner is something the Celtics haven’t had in years and Hayes would be a nice luxury pickup at 14. He could play decent minutes behind/next to Horford starting out and provide a highly efficient shot blocking big man.
